Managing Editor Ekbladet

Background

The newspaper magazine started in 1983 and has a good reputation around the University. Ekbladet is HHUS foremost communications channel today. The magazine comes out four times a year, twice in the fall and twice in the spring with approximately 1400-1800 copies printed.

Today, Ekbladet boasts the following: contact with a number of advertisers, a printing press, an editorial staff consisting of 8-10 people as well as Indesign and Photoshop software.

Tasks

The Managing Editor shares responsibility with the Editor in Chief. The Managing Editor’s tasks are mainly internal. He or she delegates the workload to the editors and writers. The Managing Editor, along with the Editor in Chief, is responsible for production of the material for the magazine.

The main task during his or her period is to maintain contact between editors and writers. He or she also leads the staff in the chosen work structure for Ekbladet.

Committee Affiliation

The Managing Editor belongs to the Marketing Committee and is a part of the editorial staff.

Selection

The Managing Editor is a management position and is appointed by the HHUS board, preceded by an application and interview.
